Dolores D. Nornhold, 80, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, passed away at home with her loved ones at her side.
Dolores was born on April 2, 1942, at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late James Homer and Cleopha May (Bardell) Hilbert. On December 17, 1961, she married the love of her life, Douglas Lee Nornhold. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Dolores was a graduate of Selinsgrove High School. Early in life she worked as a clerk at the Pennsylvania State Capitol. Her most precious position was being a Domestic Goddess for the last 55 years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Middleburg. Dolores enjoyed collecting crocks, coins, Longaberger Baskets, and Boyds Bears. She also enjoyed watching hummingbirds, flowers, and preserving food.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband, Douglas; daughter, Toni Longer of Middleburg; grandchildren, Christopher J. Nornhold of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Sarah J. Longer and her companion, Coby Sarfine, of Middleburg, and Jillian N. Platzer and her husband Jeff of Elizabethville; great-grandchildren, Kleo L. Starks, Kolton A. Ledee, and Chaz S. Francis, Jr., sister, Peggy A. Diehl and her companion, Gordon Smith, of Selinsgrove; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary E. Hilbert.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the discretion of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of Dolores be made to Geisinger Hospice, 1253 N. Susquehanna Trail, Suite 102, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
