Barbara Goodling, 92, went home to be with her precious Lord and Saviour on Monday afternoon, June 10, 2024, in her home in Richfield, PA.

She was born on January 12, 1932, in Kingston, PA, a daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Fowler) Losch.  On June 16, 1951, she married Robert L. Goodling who preceded her in passing on October 1, 2019.

Barbara attended and was a graduate of Freeburg High School.

At the age of 15, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at a Youth for Christ meeting in Long Beach, CA.  The following year, her family moved to PA from CA.  She joined the Richfield Mennonite Church and began teaching Sunday School to children while a sophomore in high school.  Over the next 75 years, she also taught Good News Clubs with CEF and DVBS.  For 20 years, she was coordinator of the Ladies Retreat at Country Cupboard in Lewisburg where more than 200 ladies attended from surrounding counties.

She had worked as a secretary at Perry West Perry Elementary School for 30 years.

Barbara and her husband, Bob, of 68 years, loved spending time with family, and RV camping with their grandchildren and friends.  In addition, Barbara organized bus trips for over 20 years to Branson, Missouri, The New England States, and Nashville, TN.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Patty Blyler and husband John; son, Barry Goodling and his wife Bev; grandchildren, Jessica Scouten and her husband Josh, Laura Goodling, Becca Siddon and her husband Jonathan, Dan Goodling, and Marci Kelley and her husband Dakota; great-grandchildren, Gabe, Luke, Madilynne, Ainsley, Weston, and Blair; and brother, Dick Losch and his wife Janet.

Barbara is preceded in passing by her husband, Bob; parents, Harold and Helen; grandson, Kyle Goodling; and sister Sally Shirk and her husband Elvin.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Richfield Life Ministries Church, 167 Church Street, Richfield, PA 17086, with Pastor Aaron Benner and Pastor Bob Givens officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Richfield Union Cemetery.
