Barbara A. Skipper, 80, of Sunbury, entered into rest at 12:35 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Sunbury Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 4, 1944, in Hagerstown, Maryland, a daughter of the late Harry Miles and Anna Mae (Good) Haynes. In 1990, she married Ralph Skipper, who preceded her in death in 2001.

Barbara attended high school in Clear Spring, Maryland. In 1989, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Susquehanna University.

She previously worked for Northumberland County Mental Health, as well as CMSU Mental Health. Most recently, she was employed as a social worker and activities director at The Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

Barbara enjoyed music, ceramics, and painting. She took pride in playing the organ for several local churches.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Becky (Bramer) and Emory Toth of Bloomsburg; one grandson, Andrew Claycomb and his companion, Jessica Mallard; one granddaughter, Vivian Bramer; two brothers, Dale Miles and his wife, Burma, and Stephen Miles and his wife, Barbara Doulis-Miles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Bramer; one brother, Larry Miles; and one sister, Evelyn Chiralo.

Services will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
