Cynthia Jean (King) Dressler, 84, passed away at Evangelical Hospital on January 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Cynthia was born on November 1, 1938, in New Berlin, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Elwood and Elizabeth (Shiffer) King.
She was a 1956 graduate of Sunbury High School in Sunbury, PA, where she was a drum majorette. Her favorite childhood memories are spending time with her grandmother, Bessie, whom she loved dearly.
After high school, she went to business school in Washington, New Jersey. She went on to work at Western Union in Wilmington, Delaware; Hanover, New York; and Fort Dix, New Jersey. Cynthia was employed at Holiday Inn in 1964 as a dining room manager. In 1974, she began employment at the Selinsgrove Center and worked there until her retirement in 2001. She held the position of night supervisor at the time of her retirement.
Cynthia moved to Winfield, Pennsylvania, in 1973, and lived there until the time of her passing.
She married her devoted husband, Kenneth Dressler, on May 11, 1978, and together they raised four children, daughter Kim Leshock and her husband Doug of Elysburg; daughter Stacey Buffington and her husband Jim of Mount Vernon, Ohio; son Kevin Dressler and his wife Doris of Selinsgrove; and son Troy Dressler and his wife Stacy of Selinsgrove.
Cynthia had a passion for sports, and was a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Boston Celtics, and professional tennis.
She also dearly loved her dogs Fernando, Bandit, and Schultz.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Elwood King, Jr., Donald King, Herbert King, and Glenn King; and a sister Janet Young.
She is survived and will be tremendously missed by her husband; four children; sister Mary Schreck and husband Guy of Florida; seven grandchildren Ryan Troup, Kayla Ross, Erin Troup, Kevin Dressler, Jr., Tony Dressler, Mason Dressler, and Logan Dressler; three great-grandchildren Kingston Ross, Nora Troup, and Kayson Ross; and her nieces Shelly Ruch, Julie Kohr, and Jackie Madden.
A private remembrance service will be held at a later date for family members only.
