David E. Dill, 74, of McAlisterville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 12, 2022, in Lewistown.  David was born on March 3, 1948, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John M. and Betty (Pry) Dill.  On November 14, 1970, he married his loving bride Claudia (Conroy) Dill.  They recently celebrated 52 years of a beautiful marriage.

David graduated from Oliver High School in Pittsburgh.  After high school, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corp where he served during the Vietnam War as a scout dog handler.  He was employed as a welder for 35 years.  After retiring from welding, he was employed as a pharmacy technician and courier for Delaware Psychiatric Center, then retired to McAlisterville, PA.

He was a member of the Foundations Bible Church in Freeburg and the National Rifle Association.

His hobbies included woodworking, building primitive furniture and bridges, planting and caring for fruit trees, and was an avid collector of cookie jars, pottery and banks.  He loved attending auctions and flea markets.

David is survived by his wife Claudia, son Dr. Eric C. Dill and his wife Elena, daughter Amy E. West and her husband Corey, and four grandchildren Dr. David E. Dill, Caitlyn C. Dill, Nathaniel J. Dill and his wife Alexis, and Catherine D. West.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, with Pastor Joseph A. Mott officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Union Cemetery and Memorial Gardens in Mifflintown, PA, with full military honors accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of David be made to Travis Mills Foundation, 647 Castle Island Road, Mt. Vernon, Maine 03452.
