David W. (Willy) Messimer, 85, of Richfield, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, PA.
David was born on April 22, 1937, in Millerstown, a son of the late Edward and Ida (Boyer) Messimer. On June 28, 1958, he married his bride Faye (Elsasser) Messimer who survives.
He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where he worked in maintenance at the State Capitol.
David was an avid hunter and enjoyed his time hunting.
He is survived by his wife Faye; two sons David Craig Messimer and his wife Patricia of Millville and Douglas K. Messimer at home; sister Helen Frantz; sisters-in-law Shirley Hoover and her husband Mike and Cecelia Messimer; brother-in-law Harold Amey; and several nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers George Messimer, Park Messimer and his wife Helen, James Messimer and his wife Mildred, and Charlie Messimer and his wife Anna; and two sisters-in-law Harriet Amey and Althea Robinson and her husband Paul.
****SERVICE DAY HAS CHANGED**** A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Niemonds Independent Church, 36964 Route 35, Richfield, PA 17086, with Pastor Ron Berrus officiating.
Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery.
