Dorothy M. Wimmer, 79, of Liverpool, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Dorothy (Dottie) was born on June 21, 1944, in Liverpool, a daughter of the late Arthur F. and Sarah E. (Kline) Goodling. On June 26, 1965, she married the late Richard L. Wimmer, who preceded her in passing on August 8, 2012.
Dottie graduated from the Philadelphia School for the Deaf in 1963. Early in life, she was employed as a seamstress at the Liverpool and Mt. Pleasant Mills sewing factories. Her life was dedicated to being a loving homemaker for her family.
She enjoyed sewing, coloring, painting, and learning the Bible. Her family was more important than anything to her, especially the precious times she shared with her grandchildren.
Dottie is survived by her son, Leroy A. Wimmer and his wife Patricia; her daughter, Peggy Willow and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Chenet Armstrong and her partner Carl Snyder, Craig Wimmer, Clayton Willow and his wife Meghan, and Gage Willow and his partner Samarra Schrack; great-grandsons, Andrew Bailey and Arlo Armstrong; her siblings, Sadie Bitner, Helen Shiltz, Lottie Chubb, Henry Goodling and his wife Patricia, Arthur Goodling, Jr. and his wife Connie, and Lillian Willow and her partner Kevin O’Hara; sister-in-law, Rose Goodling; and her precious furkitty, Lola.
She is preceded in passing by her husband, Richard; grandson, Trenton Wimmer; parents, Arthur and Sarah; siblings, Hazel Kerstetter and her husband Glenn, John Goodling, Elwood Goodling, and Herman Goodling; brothers-in-law, Palmer Bitner, Leon Shiltz, and Donald Chubb.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, with Pastor Nathaniel Mowery officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the George Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., PO Box 65, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.
Inurnment will be held at the discretion of the family in Dressler’s Ridge Church Cemetery.
