Erma I. Hawn

Erma I. Hawn, 83, formerly of Liverpool, entered into rest at 1:25 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2025, at UPMC Carlisle.
She was born May 8, 1941, in Liverpool, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Coleman) Sweigart. On May 20, 2017, she married William Hawn, who preceded her in death in 2022.
Erma was a 1959 graduate of Greenwood High School.
She worked in various dress factories, at Schlegel’s Grocery Store, Thompsontown, and most recently, at Armstrong Cabinets, Thompsontown.
Erma was a former member of St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church, Liverpool.
She enjoyed puzzles, sticker books, flowers, going for walks, and reading.
Erma is survived by two sons, Larry Wileman and his wife, Kelli, of Carlisle, and Richard Wileman and his fiancé, Drenda Purves, of Milton; one daughter, Barbara Walton of Newport; 11 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; six sisters, Evelyn Goodling, Bonnie Alvarez, Betty Boyer, Mary Latchford, Mildred Britcher, and Tracy Heintzelman; one brother, Samuel Sweigart; and her beloved cat, Patches.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa; a granddaughter, Tonya Wileman; four sisters, Judy, Joann, Florence, and Emma; two brothers, Jim and Lewis; former husband and father of her children, Kenneth Wileman; and former husband, Lawrence Garner.
Services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Erma’s family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Church, 5 Barner Road, Liverpool, PA 17045.
