Ernest Palmer “Kep” Kepler, 93, of Hummels Wharf, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his home.

Ernest was born on April 24, 1931, in West Perry Township, Snyder County, a son of the late Carson H. Kepler and Beulah L. (Wochley) Kepler Kratzer.  On September 21, 1957, he married the love of his life, the late Henrietta June (Pyle) Kepler.

Ernest was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church since 1958.  He was also a member of American Legion Post 25, Korean Last Mans Club of Post 25, and L.O.O.M. 1173 all of Selinsgrove.

During his working career, he had been employed at Bottiger and Stuck Lumber Co. for 28 years, and, later, Truck and Trailer Sales and Leasing for 19 years.

Ernest enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren and attending and participating in their activities.

He is survived by his two sons, Douglas A. Kepler and his wife Lynne and Jeffrey S. Kepler and his wife Jane; grandchildren, Jacob R. Kepler, Ty Kepler and his wife Elizabeth, Muir Blochberger and her husband Ryan, Carson J. Kepler and his wife Karley, and Amelia M. LaScala and her husband Louis; great-grandchildren, Cassius L. Kepler, Dylan H. Kepler, and Theodore F. LaScala; brothers, Harold G. Kepler and his wife Elizabeth, Wayne S. Kratzer, and Randall L. Kratzer; and sister-in-law, Dawn Kratzer.

Ernest is preceded in passing by his wife, Henrietta; parents, Carson and Beulah; step-father, William C. “Piney” Kratzer; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Kepler; brother, Robert “Piney” Kratzer; and step-sister, Joan Snook.

Per Mr. Kepler's wishes, all services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in loving memory of Ernest to a charity of the donor’s choice.
