Fleta M. (Roush) Arnold, 92, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, entered eternal rest on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Fleta was born on June 30, 1931, in Perry Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Sheaffer) Roush, Sr. On August 26, 1950, she married Harold Arnold who preceded her in passing on July 5, 1998.
Her school days were attending Freeburg High School. Fleta was employed as a manager of United Apparel Company in Newport where she was employed for over 40 years. She retired from there in 1991 when the company closed.
Fleta was a member of St. Paul’s Leininger’s Church. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and reading. Fleta’s favorite enjoyment was spending precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proud of each one of them.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Lyter and Gay Bitting; grandchildren, Christopher (Teresa) Kuhn, Benjamin (Carrie) Bitting, Spring (Michael) Gearhart, Timothy (Devon) Kuhn, and Daniel (Melanie) Bitting; great-grandchildren, Jessica (Hayden) Crouse, Emily Kuhn, Sierra Gearheart, Mitchell Newby, Eva Bitting, Ryley Kuhn, Marshall Newby, Izabella Bitting, Farryn Kuhn, and Mallory Bitting; one great-great-grandchild arriving in January 2024; brothers, Donald Roush and Robert Roush; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fleta is preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Harold; sister as a young child, Betty Roush; brothers, Elmer Roush, Jr. in infancy and Palmer Roush; sisters-in-laws, Shirley Roush and Mabel Roush; and sons-in-laws, John Lyter and David Bitting.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Leininger’s Church Cemetery, 357 Leininger’s Church Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, with Rev. Hugo Schroeder, III, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of Fleta be made to St. Paul’s Leininger’s Church, c/o Shane Nipple, 299 Nipple Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.
