Freda L. Kreitzer

Selinsgrove, PA

On October 13, 2024, Freda L. Kreitzer of Selinsgrove, PA, entered into eternal life following a brave fight with ovarian cancer.

Freda was born on May 30, 1949, in Sunbury, PA, to Rose M. and Samuel C. (Heiser) Shirk. She was raised in Selinsgrove and graduated from Selinsgrove High School.

She married the love of her life, Robert E. Kreitzer, on February 16, 1969. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage together.

She retired after working for more than 30 years as a Title Abstractor.

She loved flowers, mowing the lawn, taking nightly walks with Ben Beagle, traveling, and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.  The birth of her great-granddaughter, Cece Rose, brought new joy and purpose to her life during her difficult battle with cancer.

She was a member of Botschaft’s (Grubb’s) Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant Mills.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Kreitzer; daughter, Michelle Kreitzer; granddaughter, Brittany (Matthew) Tremblay; great-granddaughter, Celia Tremblay; brother, Charles (Debbie) Shirk; brother-in-law, Larry (Cathy) Kreitzer; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Chris) Klock, Carol Boyer, Bonnie Shetter, and Florence (Michael) Schrey; and numerous extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and R. Edwin Rhoads; brother-in-law James Boyer; and many extended family members.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Botschaft’s (Grubb’s) Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant Mills, with a public viewing from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Doll officiating.

Burial will immediately follow in Grubb’s Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Mills.
