Harry L. “Junior” Baney, Sr., 86, of Selinsgrove, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 13, 2025, at The Manor at Penn Village.
Harry was born on March 31, 1938, in Kantz (Selinsgrove), a son of the late Harry William and Rachel (Campbell) Baney.
Harry attended the one-room school room in Kantz. As a young man, he enlisted and honorably served in the United States Army. He retired from National Limestone Quarry where he was employed as an equipment operator for many years.
He was a member of the Middleburg Moose Lodge and Rooster’s Corner. In his early years, he enjoyed driving sprint car at Selinsgrove Speedway and drag racing. Harry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping (especially camping at the family’s “Old Family Campsite”, attending Roger Lauver’s Produce Auction, flea markets, and turkey shoots at Rooster’s Corner.
Harry is survived by his children, Harry Baney, Jr., Joan Wydra, Michael Baney, David Baney, Jeff Baney, and Shawn Baney; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, James Baney and his wife Ruby, Sandra Meiser, and Patrice Sarfine; and sister-in-law, Donna Baney.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, Harry and Rachel; a daughter in-infancy, Kathy Baney; brothers, Robert Baney and Barry Baney; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Baney; and brother-in-law, Gary Meiser.
Services will be held privately at the discretion of the family.
