Harvey W. Demmy, 69, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at his home.

Harvey was born on December 14, 1955, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Paul R. Demmy, Sr. and Betty (Zang) Demmy Oakes.  On June 28, 2008, he married Leslie (McBride) Demmy.

Harvey was a graduate of Middleburg High School.  As a young man, he was employed at Fuller’s Store.  He had been employed for 40 years at Wood-Mode until their closure, refereed at basketball games, and served as a funeral assistant for several years with George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc.

He was a past member of Fremont Fire Department where he assisted with the fire police.  Harvey was a Penn State, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Orioles fan.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR, listening to the oldies, and seeing antique cars.

Along with his wife, Leslie, Harvey is survived by his children, Trina (Jesse) Polak, Alex (Samantha) Demmy, and Jesse (Tiffany) Demmy; step-children, Jack (Heather) Bowersox, Jr., Shawn (Andrea) Bowersox, and Anthony (Kelley) Bowersox; grandchildren, Julie, Scarlett, Vaughn, Wyatt, Hunter, Isabella, Christopher, and Jaxon; mother-in-law, Vi Blose; siblings, Betty Signor, Sandra Lutz, Anne Pennebaker,  and Harrison Heckard; nephews, Bean and Del Fuller; and niece, Amy Inch.

Harvey is preceded in passing by his parents and siblings, Linda Head, Louise Heckard, Donna Signor, Paul Demmy, Jr., and his twin, Harriet Beistline.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1000 N. Front Street, Liverpool, PA 17045, with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Eckert and Pastor Roger Womer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of Harvey be made to George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., PO Box 65, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.

The George P. Garman Funeral Home Family would like to extend our deepest condolences to all of Harvey's family, friends, and co-workers.  He was a caring and compassionate funeral assistant, and we will all miss him.  Love you, Harvey!  Thank you for your years of serving our families!
