Janette Witmer, 78, of Liverpool, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Janette was born on December 10, 1945, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Bruce and Erma (Keen) Bobb.  In May 1972, she married Rodney Witmer, who preceded her in passing in April 2011.

Janette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and enjoyed her life being a homemaker.  Being very community driven, she was very active in her community and church.  She was a council member at St. John Barner’s Church, a long-standing member of the Liverpool Civic Club, a member of the Perry County Grange, several area card clubs, and worked at the Liverpool Township voting polls for many years.

Her hobbies included playing cards, Mahjong, bingo at the Liverpool Legion, board games with her grandchildren, shopping, gardening, and mowing grass.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending precious time with her family.

Janette is survived by her son, Christopher Witmer; daughter, Tara Pyle and her husband Thomas, Jr.; grandchildren, Madelyn Ferguson and her husband Seth and Thomas Pyle, III; great-grandson, Tate Rodney Ferguson, arriving in February 2024; brother, Mitchell Bobb; and five nieces and their families.

She is preceded in passing by her parents and husband.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Barner’s Church, 5 Barner Church Road, Liverpool, PA 17045, with Pastor Andy Bucke officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in St. John (Barner’s) Lutheran Cemetery.
