Joan K. Clotfelter, 83, of Selinsgrove, entered eternal rest on February 28, 2024, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Joan was born on June 29, 1940, in Port Trevorton, a daughter of the late Gomez H. and Mary K. (Kerlin) Schreiber.  On January 29, 1963, she married the love of her life, Larry Clotfelter.  They shared over 53 years of marriage until Larry’s passing on November 3, 2016.

Joan was in the Class of 1958 at Selinsgrove High School.  She enjoyed staying in touch with classmates and attending their class reunions.  Joan was a longstanding member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ of Verdilla.

Joan was a waitress for over 50 years at several area restaurants, including The Dutch Kitchen, The Airport Restaurant, and The Pepper Tree.  Through her 50 plus years of waitressing, she formed many lifetime friendships.

She enjoyed playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading, and cooking.  She was a huge sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and anything with Penn State.  Joan’s greatest enjoyments were spending time with her family, friends, and her granddogs.  Joan lovingly spoiled her granddogs.  Her special times were giving them a cookie every morning.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Tammy Koontz and her husband, Thomas and Lisa Ulrich and her husband, Gregory; granddaughter, Kelsey Ulrich and her significant other, Bob; granddogs, Ellie and Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in passing by her husband, Larry; parents, Gomez and Mary; and siblings, Max Schreiber, John Schreiber, Helen Aucker, and Peggy Weirick.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Witmer’s Memorial Cemetery, 350 Witmer Road, Port Trevorton, PA 17864, with Pastor Amelia Price officiating.
