John E. Maneval, 70, formerly of Freeburg and Shamokin Dam, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village in Lewisburg.
John was born on June 29, 1954, in Sunbury, a son of the late Harvey and Mary Ellen (Neitz) Maneval.
John was a 1972 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. He was a truck driver for over 30 years. His driving included being a truck driver for American Select Products, NAPA, Bard and Son, and Kapinski Trucking. John’s last years as a truck driver were as an owner operator.
He was a life member of Dauntless Hook and Ladder Co., Hummels Wharf Fire Company, Freeburg Volunteer Fire Company, Shamokin Dam Fire Company, and the North American Hunting Club and a member of Selinsgrove American Legion Post No. 25.
John enjoyed shooting pool, going to NASCAR races, and playing cards with friends and family.
John is survived by his sister, Wanda (Maneval) Lapetina; two brothers, Mark Maneval and his wife Kathy and Matthew Maneval and his wife Carol; two nephews, Tyler Maneval and his wife Angela and Cory Maneval; two nieces, Amanda Saylor and her husband Brock and Samantha Donley and her husband Ryan; multiple grandnieces and grandnephews; several aunts and uncles; and many close friends.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Harvey and Mary Ellen, and several aunts and uncles.
Per John’s request, there will be no services.
