Keith A. Sheaffer, 75, of Richfield, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Keith was born on April 16, 1947, in Lewistown, PA, a son of the late Albert and Miriam (Shirk) Sheaffer. On June 8, 1968, Keith married his beautiful bride, Penny (Spade) Sheaffer. Together, they shared over 54 years of a beautiful marriage.
Keith was a 1965 graduate of East Juniata High School. After high school, he was employed by Shirk Construction for over 30 years and later as a carpenter for Bob’s Electric. He and his wife regularly attended Stony Run Mission Church.
He was an avid hunter with turkey being his favorite to hunt. Keith also enjoyed fishing and cutting wood. His greatest enjoyment was attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending precious time with each one of them. He was affectionately known as “Old Pap”, a special name his great-grandson gave to him.
Keith is survived by his loving wife, Penny; two sons, Jeremy Sheaffer and his wife Shari and their children, Katie and Trevor and Chad Sheaffer and his wife Ronda and their children, Taran and Hunter; a great-grandson and his pride and joy, Miles Sheaffer; two sisters, Kay Stuck and her husband Bob and Pamela Lower and her husband Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Stony Run Mission Church, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville, PA 17049, with Pastor Nick Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of Keith be made to the Richfield Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 236, Richfield, PA 17086 or Stony Run Mission Church, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
