Kenneth L. Lilley

Kenneth Lamar Lilley, 74, of Oriental Road, Liverpool, died on May 19, 2024, at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg, following a long, hard, and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
He was born May 15, 1950, in Port Trevorton, a son of the late Albert Myers and Margaret Alice (Heintzelman) Lilley. On October 18, 1975, he married Joan Louise Dietz. They shared 48 ½ years of beautiful memories.
Ken was a 1968 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. He served in the U.S. Army, 2nd Division Infantry from 1970 until 1972. During his service he was stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam War.
Before entering the Army, he worked for the Department of Transportation. Following his discharge, he worked for several trucking companies including Eastern Express, Pilot Freight, TNT Red Star, and retired from New Penn Trucking. He was a member and retired in 2007 from Teamsters Local 776. Kenneth also co-operated the H. & L. Gladiolus Farm for four years. During retirement, he worked part-time for Blue Grass Saw & Tool.
Ken served as a coach for years for Mt. Pleasant Mills Youth Baseball League. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, watching sports, and singing in the choir.
Ken was a member of Zion (Hall’s) Lutheran Church, Port Trevorton, where he served as council president for many years and served on co-op council. He also served as the treasurer of the church cemetery association and as caretaker of the cemetery.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Joan, are sons, Keith and wife Kerri Lilley of Carlisle and Brian Lilley of Mechanicsburg; two grandchildren who were the loves of his life, Mackenzie and Cameron Lilley both of Carlisle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Nancy Lilley, Donald and Gail Lilley, and James and Beverly Lilley; sister, Vicki Knight; and several nieces and nephews.
Ken is preceded in passing by his parents and brother-in-law, Rick Knight.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, with Pastor Robert Doll officiating.
Interment will immediately follow in Zion (Hall’s) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Port Trevorton. Military Honors will be accorded by the Selinsgrove American Legion Victory Post 25 and Selinsgrove VFW Post 6631.
A special “Thank You” is extended to the Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center staff for their loving care for the last ten months.
