LeRoy (Roy) Glick of Selinsgrove, passed away on March 28, 2024.  He was born in Richfield on December 27, 1934, a son of the late Menno (Luke) and Elsie Mae (Auker) Glick.  On November 19, 1955, he married the former Lois E. Spriggle, and, together, they shared over 68 years of marriage.

Roy was a 1953 graduate of Selinsgrove High School and attended the University of Miami Business School and Embry Riddle School of Aviation, where he received his private pilot’s license.

Roy was a former president of the Sunbury Jaycee’s and Sunbury Kiwanis Club.  During his 39-year service with the Kiwanis, he built partnerships in Jamaica where he organized groups to build and renovate children’s homes across the Island.  He, his wife, and Kiwanis members from across the country made 26 trips to Jamaica.  Roy was instrumental in sending and delivering more than 2 million children’s vitamins to Jamaica to be used by 62 children in homes across the Island.

Early years of employment included the Singer Company, Montgomery Ward, a wholesale distributor salesman in floor coverings and building materials and managing a local retail building supply company.  In 1976, Roy and his wife started Glick Garage Door Company, later evolving the business into marketing solar and alternative energy products.  The business was named “Small Business of the Year” by the Central Susquehanna Chamber of Commerce.

He enjoyed being appointed Penn Township Representative to the Penn Valley Airport Authority.  During his time as Chairman, the Airport underwent a major expansion.

In addition to his wife, Lois, his is survived by two sons, Abram Glick and his wife Joan of Selinsgrove and Luke Glick and his wife Sherry of Middleton, Idaho; daughter, Annette Glick of Monticello, Florida; ex-daughter-in-law, Lynn Glick; two grandchildren, Deleana Johnson and her husband Larry and Cody Glick and his wife Tabitha; great-granddaughter, Isla Johnson; and step-great-granddaughter, Scarlet Krumbine.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Courtney (Glick) Peterson and her husband Zachary of Boise, Idaho; and a brother, Nelson Glick, of Richfield.

At his request, there will be no public service.  Burial will be private in the St. Paul Cemetery off of Middlecreek Road, Selinsgrove.
