Liverpool, PA
Louise Adermann Pennay, 95, of Liverpool, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill.
Louise was born on December 21, 1927, in Altamont, IL, the daughter of the late Albert and Eleanore Adermann. On September 19, 1953, she married her beloved Richard Arnold Pennay, who passed on June 29, 2012. They shared a loving marital union of 58 years.
Louise dedicated her life to God, family, and farm living with grace, faith, and love. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an active member of and Sunday School teacher for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Liverpool for decades before joining St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Millerstown in later years. She also was an active member of the Perry Valley Grange in Millerstown, and the Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania in York, for many years. Louise was always ready to prepare whatever meal or baked goods were needed for the community and was well known by family and friends for her delicious pies, sticky buns, cookies, and, especially, her cinnamon bread.
Louise is survived by her six children and their spouses, Rick and Gail Pennay of Harrisburg, Ellen and Allen Hench of Charlottesville, VA, Susan Pennay of Harrisburg, Jeffrey and Sue Pennay of Liverpool, Marti and Edward Wilson of McLean, VA, and Lori Pennay and Chris Chorengel of New York, NY; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Beverly Pappas, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four sisters, Hilma, Elsbeth, Nora, and Florence.
