Mabel M. Teats, 95, of Port Trevorton, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 3, 2025, at The Mansion in Sunbury.

Mabel was born on March 15, 1929, in Port Trevorton, a daughter of the late Percival and Dorothy (Drumheller) Reichenbach.  In 1948, she married the late Stearl Teats.

Mabel attended Hautz’s Grammer School.  She was employed for many years at Lyons Fashions, and, later, at Emergency Medical Supplies (EMS) as a seamstress.

She was a member of Paradise Church until they merged with Hope United Methodist Church.

Mabel loved playing cards, baking, canning, cooking, quilting, sewing, embroidering, listening to Lawrence Welk and country music, and watching the Phillies. Closest to her heart was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and her greatest enjoyment was spending precious time with them and attending their family gatherings.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Gloria) Teats, Larry (Nancy) Teats, Bruce (Rae Ellen) Teats, Darlene (Rod) Kerstetter, Cindy (George) Markley, Bonnie (Mark) Goss, and Brenda (Earl) Strawser; daughter-in-law, Jean; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Mabel is preceded in passing by her husband, Stearl; parents, Percival and Dorothy; son, Lawrence Teats; brothers, Daniel Reichenbach and Oscar Reichenbach; and sisters, Florence Walters, Beaulah Kratzer, Martha Shaffer, Beatrice Shetterly, Lila Frymoyer, and Amanda Kantz.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Church, 1623 Main Street, Port Trevorton, PA 17864, with Pastor David Keyworth officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Paradise Cemetery.
