Marvin I. Lenker, 88, of Richfield, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 4, 2022, in Danville.

Marvin was born on June 22, 1934, in Washington Township, Snyder County, a son of the late John S. and Joyce E. (Freed) Lenker.  On December 10, 1955, he married his beautiful bride M. Joann (Zeiders) Lenker.

He was a 1953 graduate of Freeburg High School.  In 1957, he entered the United States Army where he served until 1959.  Marvin worked for Wood-Mode, Meiser Feed Mill, and Pepsi-Cola.  In 1980, he and Joann became the proud owners of The County Line Restaurant until their retirement in 1995.

Marvin was a member of several masonic organizations, a life member of Freeburg Fire Company, member of Richfield Sportsmen’s Club and the Richfield United Church of Christ.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, loafing at The County Line Restaurant, and early in life he coached Little League.  Marvin volunteered for his community by mowing Basom Memorial Park and Richfield Youth Park in Richfield for over 20 years.

Marvin is survived by his wife Joann; two daughters, Stephanie Freyermuth and husband Jeffrey and Annette Kantz and her husband Dennis; six grandchildren, Megan (Davey) Aldinger and their children Ana and Odon, Ashley (Thomas) Naylor and their children Nalaya, Maley, and Ian, Bryant (Jenny) Kantz and their children Brayden, Edward, and Fredrick, Kassondra Kantz, Bryson Kantz, and Westin Kantz; one sister, Shirley Elizabeth Ferster; and one sister-in-law, Naomi Lenker.

He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Kristin Kantz; brother John W. Lenker; sister Miriam Troutman and her husband Chester; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Ferster.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853 with Pastor Tammy Gessner officiating.  Military honors will be accorded in the funeral home parking lot by the Selinsgrove VFW Post 6631 and the Selinsgrove American Legion Victory Post 25 immediately following the funeral service.

The family kindly requests anyone attending the services to please wear your red, white, and blue.

Interment will immediately follow in Richfield Union Cemetery.
