Middleburg, PA

Mary G. Williams, 92, of Middleburg, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Evangelical Community Hospital.

She was born on April 1, 1932, in Juniata County, a daughter of the late Orpha (Goodling) and Paul H. Chubb.  On January 7, 1984, she married the late Louis V. Williams.

Mary attended Quaker Run School and Laurel Hill School in Juniata County.

She was a seamstress who worked at Glasco Limited in Lansdale and New Bloomfield Dress Factory in Newport.

Mary was a member of Aline United Methodist Church where she for many years enjoyed activities of the Willing Workers Class and Bible Study.  Even while suffering with dementia in her later years, she often reminded others of how much Jesus loves us.

During her retirement, she enjoyed flower gardening, visiting with her grandchildren, and baking for family members.  She was noted for her delicious banana bread and chocolate cake with peanut butter icing.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carrie Lou Sheeder; one brother, Paul H. Chubb, Jr.; and son-in-law, Larry E. Spigelmyer.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane; grandchildren, Kathi G. Knouse and her husband Dan and Dale R. Spigelmyer and his wife Maureen; great-grandchildren, Lily, Maya, and Riley Spigelmyer and Katelyn, Dayton, Delaney, Kimber, and Della Knouse; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Janice Chubb; and numerous nieces and nephews.

For those who desire, contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to Aline United Methodist Church, 413 Backus Woods Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.

There will be a public viewing on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA.
