Rev. Nancy J. Moyer, 86, formerly of Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

Nancy was born on July 22, 1937, at her family’s home in Mt. Pleasant Mills, a daughter of the late Leroy Charles and Dorothy P. (Miller) Mengle.  On March 18, 1956, she married Glenn E. Moyer, who preceded her in passing on July 15, 1971.

Nancy attended Freeburg High School until her senior year.  She graduated from Selinsgrove High School.  Nancy’s career included being a secretary, beautician, and serving as an ordained minister of two churches, Grace Reformed Church in Troxelville and St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Beavertown.

She took classes to become a lay minister at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, and became ordained while serving the ministry at the Freeburg United Methodist Church.

Her hobbies included landscaping, crocheting, and knitting.

Nancy is survived by four children, June Hackenberg and her husband Dave of Middleburg, Marcia Knouse and her husband Gerry of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Jeffrey Moyer of Mt. Pleasant Mills, and Karen Kerstetter and her husband Steve of Selinsgrove; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Paige and her husband Donald of Mt. Pleasant Mills; great-aunt, Ruth Ventresca of Allentown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in passing by her husband, Glenn and parents, Leroy and Dorothy.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Freeburg United Methodist Church, 4 Church Street, Freeburg, with Pastor Scott Ryan officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Fairview Cemetery, Freeburg.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy requested to have memorial contributions be made to Freeburg United Methodist Church, PO Box 188, Freeburg, PA 17827.
