Norma Roush
Port Trevorton, PA
On October 1, 2024, Norma got her wish and was reunited with, “Bill”, the love of her life.
Norma was born in Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, to Merlin L. and Ruth M. (Kreitzer) Bower. The family relocated to Port Trevorton when she was about 6 years old.
She attended school at Smith’s School House.
On December 27,1952, she married William C. Roush, who preceded her in 2016.
For the majority of her life, she worked in the sewing industry, first, as seamstress at Freemont Shirt Factory and Spruce Manufacturing in Sunbury, then as Supervisor with Inter Manufacturing, Inc. in Beavertown.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, home canning, gardening and traveling.
She lovingly made blankets and afghans for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Together, they visited a majority of US states including Alaska and Hawaii, Canada, Bahamas and Europe. She and Bill were well known for their immense garden and sharing of the volumes of fruits and vegetable with others.
She enjoyed going to family reunions and spending time with family.
She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Port Trevorton.
She is survived by children Esther (Craig) Klinger of Port Trevorton and Ellen (Antonio) DiDomenico of Selinsgrove; grandchildren, Eric (Laura) Klinger, Bryan (Amanda) Klinger, Mandy Weiser, and Katie (Casey) Seaman; great-grandchildren, Shawn (Veronica), Trey (Gabi), Madison, Emily, Amelia, Nora, Kinnley, and Elleri; niece Lois (George) Ferry; sisters-in-law Peggy (Leroy) Varner, Virgina (Richard) Gaugler, Shirley Sprenkle, Linda (Charles) Neff, Darlene Loretto; and numerous extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Elwood and Ruth Bower; grandson, Jason Wolf; nephew Dennis Bower; brothers-in-law, John (Gladys) Roush, Gene (Peg) Roush, Calvin Sprenkle, Sam Loretto; sister-in-law, Anna Mae (Leroy) Heintzelman; and many extended family members.
Services will be held on October 8, 2024, at Hope UMC in Port Trevorton with a public visitation at 10 AM and funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor David Keyworth officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery, Port Trevorton.
