Orville William “Bill” Losch, 87, of Selinsgrove, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 5, 2024, at his home.

Orville was born on Thursday, December 3, 1936, at his parents’ home near McAlisterville.  He was the son of the late Henry and Anna (Dressler) Losch.

Orville was a busy guy, and in his busy world, he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and gardening.  He was known for pulling quarters from behind children’s ears, offering mints, gum, and $2.00 bills to children, and always having a pot of coffee ready and a story to tell.  Early in life, he was a barber, a race car driver, and a member of a barbershop quartet.  Orville was an amazing chef, and he loved to cook.  He was always comforting people and offering them something to eat.

When he was a young man, he enlisted in the National Guard.  Later, he was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his companion, Hulda Losch; children, Christine L. (Losch) Taylor and her husband Thomas, Gregory R. Losch, Rodney W. Losch and his companion Sally Caprio, Mia M. Hassinger and her husband Brian, Roberta K. Laufenberg and her husband Alexander-Eric; grandchildren, Michael T., Krista M., Jessica L., Joshua S. and his wife Janelle E., Taryn R. Losch-Beridon and her husband Douglas M., Ryan T. Losch and and his wife Jessica, Larry C. Losch and his wife Dashinae M., Jordan C. Hassinger and his wife Mary E., Isaac A. Hassinger and his wife Rachel D., Ashley N. Berkheimer and her husband Justin C., Kay E. Hassinger, Hannah E. Hassinger, Carly A. Hassinger, Jackson A. Hassinger; great-grandchildren, six plus Owen T., Sophie M., Trenton J., Avery J., Alexander J., Ella A., Cadel C., Nils B., Emmaleey F., Carter A., Olyver C., Aria C., and Zamira V.; one great-great-grandchild; and one remaining sister, Gladys Sheaffer.

Orville is preceded in passing by his parents, Henry and Anna; son, Steven E. Losch; sisters, Wanda Miller, Carolyn Stoner, and Mildred Hepner; and brothers, Leroy Dressler, Victor Losch, Donald Losch, Elwood Losch, Gerald Losch, Larry Losch, Joseph Losch, and Wayne Losch.

Services will be held at the discretion of his loving family at a later date.
