Peggy A. Varner, 81, of Richfield, entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  She was born on August 22, 1940, in Dauphin County, a daughter of the late Lester and Emma (Drayer) Reigel.

On December 4, 1959, Peggy married her husband Arthur B. Varner who preceded her in death on May 11, 2015.

Peggy retired from the Clarks Ferry Truck Stop where she was employed as a housekeeper.  She was a member of the Stony Run Mission Church, their Bible School, and the Juniata County Release Time.

Her hobbies included doing crossword puzzles and word searches and reading. She was an Eagles fan and enjoyed watching their games.  Peggy’s greatest enjoyment was spending precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She also cherished going on vacations with her family.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Dorothy Brubaker and her husband Barry; two grandchildren Jason Brubaker and his wife Kimberly and Taren Varner and her husband Joshua; and two great-grandchildren Bryce Varner and Emma Varner.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; a sister Dorothy Reigel; and brothers Earl Reigel, Mearl Reigel, Bobby Reigel, Marlin Reigel, and Donald Reigel.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Nick Smith officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in the Richfield Union Cemetery.
