Richard L. Brown, 80, of Richfield, went to be with his Lord on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Evangelical Hospital in Lewisburg.

Richard was born on May 7, 1944, in Pine Swamp (Richfield), Snyder County, a son of the late William and Ruth (Stroup) Brown.  On July 20, 1963, Richard married the love of his life, Judy (Haas) Brown.  His passing breaks a marital union of 61 years.

Richard was a member of Daniels/St. Thomas UMC.

His pride and joy in life was his loving family.  His hobbies were building and woodworking.  Richard was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He was a member of the Stroup Hunting Gang for many years.  He also enjoyed playing cards and telling jokes.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Judy; daughters, Crystal (Raymond) O’Keefe, Kelly (Steve) Renninger, and Abby Kreitzer (Companion John Ziegler); grandchildren, Daphne, Brock, and Eleesha Wagner, Cody Renninger, Cassidy (Zach) Wertz, and Ellie Kreitzer; great-grandchildren, Layla, Logan, Keenan, Ridge, and Ainsley; step-grandchildren, Sabrena and Carren O’Keefe; and brother, Lloyd “Sonny” (Judith) Brown.

He is preceded in passing by his parents, William and Ruth, and a sister in infancy, Fern Irene Brown.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, with Pastor Valerie Delooze officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Daniels/St. Thomas Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude, thanks, and appreciation to Lori Kerstetter, the Richfield Ambulance League, and the Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Staff for the care they provided to Richard over the last few years.
