Robert R. “Dick” Criley, 73, of Herndon, entered eternal rest on April 11, 2023, at The Gardens at Millville.

Robert was born on September 16, 1949, at home in Greenwood Township, Perry County, a son of the late George Edwin and Myrtle Melinda (Murtiff) Criley.

Robert retired from Hempt Brothers where he had been employed as a truck driver for many years.  He attended and was a member of Pillow God’s Missionary Church.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, spending time attending the races at Selinsgrove Speedway, scrapping metal, and hunting.  Robert especially enjoyed precious time spent with his family and having picnics with them.  He was known for his specialty of making homemade potato candy at Christmas time.

Robert is survived by his three sons and their spouses, Carl I. (Sherri) Criley, Anthony L. “Tony” (Traci) Criley, and Calvin D. (Carrie) Criley; five grandchildren, Amber, Zahery, Saxon, Aiden, and Owen; and his sister, Arramintta “Jane” Hockenbroch.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Paul Nelson “Pete” Criley, Edwin Ronald “Butch” Criley, Sylvia L. “Babe” Higley, and David Daniel “Hump” Criley.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pillow God’s Missionary Church, 155 S. Union Church, Pillow, PA 17080 and on Monday, April 17, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N. Front Street, Liverpool, PA 17045, with Pastor Aaron Dorman officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Liverpool Union Cemetery.
