Robert C. Kratzer, 79, of Middleburg, entered eternal rest at his home on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Robert “Bob” was born on March 27, 1945, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Elmer Benjamin and Josephine Leona (Ruehl) Kratzer. On March 14, 1992, Bob married Karen M. (Geyer) Kratzer, who preceded him on October 2, 2014.
Bob attended the Kreamer School in his early school years, and, later, graduated from Middleburg Joint High School.
After high school, Bob was drafted and served in the United States Army for four years. Following his discharge from the Army, he worked at Miss Siren in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania House Furniture (from 1969 until their closure in 2005) as a molder operator and in the tool department, and, later retired from Conestoga Wood Specialties as a saw operator.
He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kratzerville, and attended Loganton Wesleyan Church with his late wife, Karen.
Bob loved dogs, especially his precious dog, Waldo. He was known to create parts and pieces to fix things. He was known as a great friend to all that knew him. As quoted by one of his close friends, “he was a very good friend, a true friend, a friend that always stopped what he was doing to help”.
He is survived by two nieces, Barbara Hubler of Middleburg and Leona (Michael) Macomber of California; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaitlin (Brian) Mathers, Maureen Macomber, Charlee (Travis) Sheffler, Alexander (Marissa Sistos) Macomber, and Jethro Macomber; great-great-nieces and nephews, Greyson, Rowan, and Amara; sister-in-law, Eileen (David) Shreckengast and their children Troy Shreckengast and Gina Bream; and his dog, Waldo.
Bob is preceded in passing by his wife, Karen; parents, Elmer and Josephine; sisters, Nancyann Hubler and Betty Mae Kratzer; half-brothers, Kenneth Grant and Donald Malone.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.
