Roger D. Maynard, 66, of Millerstown, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Penn State Hampden in Enola.
Roger was born on June 7, 1958, in Beckley, West Virginia, a son of the late Charles and Margie (Harless) Maynard. On June 23, 1990, Roger married the love of his life, Elana (Fisher) Maynard.
Roger graduated from Independence High School in Beckley, West Virginia. Earlier in life, he worked at Meals Service and Sutliff Chevrolet as an automotive technician. He later retired from Cleveland Brothers where he had been employed as a parts distribution consultant.
Roger was an ASE Certified Master Mechanic. He could fix anything, and was always willing to help anyone, and, often times, came up with his own inventions. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Patriots with Tom Brady being his favorite player, and attending Selinsgrove Speedway where he spent Saturdays working on the pit crew for late-model driver Dale Kerstetter.
His most precious times were spending time with his wife and children, whom he dearly loved.
Roger is survived by his wife, Elana; daughters, Megan Maynard and her companion Justin Crawford of Carlisle and Brooke Maynard of Millerstown; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald P. and Almeda Fisher of Millerstown; brother-in-law, Brett Fisher and his wife Mary; nieces, Sarah Sheaffer and her husband Carl of Carlisle and Brittany Fisher; nephews, Danny Tempel and his wife Jessica of Millerstown, Matthew Fisher, and Sterling Fisher; and cousins, Anthonette Shrewsberry and her husband Dale of West Virginia, Wayne Harless, and Carol.
He is preceded in passing by his parents; sister, Hazel Marie Maynard in infancy; brother, Charles “Alan” Maynard; sister-in-law, Cathy Harless; brother-in-law, Gerard Fisher; and cousins, Judy and Thomas.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Mt. Olivet Church of the Brethren in Newport, with Pastor “J.R.” Eugene Jones officiating.
Inurnment will be private at Richfield Union Cemetery.
Roger loved being in the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests to plant a tree in our local area in his loving memory.
