Rustin (Rusty) Daniel Kerstetter, 68, went up yonder on Monday, August 5, 2024. His battle with cancer ended in his home in Port Trevorton, PA.
He was born in Sunbury, PA, on February 1, 1956, to the late Alma and Welcome Kerstetter. “I’m not Welcome, my Dad’s Welcome.”
He graduated from Selinsgrove High School (1974) and Delaware Valley College (1978).
Rusty is survived by his wife of 46 years, Holly (Steen) Kerstetter and his sister, Rose Weir. He was comforted by his three children and their spouses, Benjamin and Rachelle Kerstetter, Joshua and Sally Kerstetter, and Dillon and Abigail (Kerstetter) Brouse, along with four grandchildren, Emma, Loralei, Theodore Rustin, and Samantha. He also leaves behind caring in-laws, nieces, nephews, and, of course, Duke.
Rusty held many jobs where he made many friends, but what he loved to do was farm. Taking care of his “girls”, growing things, and riding around on tractors was as much fun as work. He loved to share his knowledge with anyone who would listen. But farming wasn’t the only subject he loved to talk about, he loved talking.
A viewing will be held at Hope United Methodist Church in Port Trevorton, PA, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will immediately follow in Chapman’s Chapel Cemetery.
