Shirley Mae Scholl, 86, of Selinsgrove, entered into rest at 10:56 p.m., on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 19, 1938, in Chapman Township, a daughter of the late Norman D. and Mabel (Arbogast) Wildt. On May 3, 1958, she married Russell “Russ” John Scholl, who preceded her in death July 6, 2002.

Shirley attended Locust Grove Grammar Schoolhouse.

She was employed for 26 years at Groce’s Silk Mill in Selinsgrove and Port Trevorton, where she did lacing and reeling. She also worked at Furman’s Cannery, Northumberland, and Leonard’s Garment Factory, Mt. Pleasant Mills.

Shirley was a member of Grubb’s Lutheran Church, where she helped with chicken & waffle dinners, Dauntless Hook & Ladder Company Ambulance League, Selinsgrove, and Medic 55, Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. She was also a life member of the Port Trevorton Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed gardening, growing violets, baking cookies, playing games, mowing the lawn, walking to Walmart, feeding birds and squirrels, spending time with her family, watching TV, and socializing with her neighbors and friends. She was an avid animal lover and looked forward to feeding her neighbor’s dog, Bleu, vanilla wafers every day.

Shirley is survived by one daughter-in-law, Karen Scholl; four granddaughters, Jemilla (John) Frymyer, Dianne (Earl) Swartzlander, Jayme Hile, and Mary (Curtis) Hoffman; 8 great-grandchildren, Chasity (Kolby) Keister, Cody Bachman, Gene “Russ” (April) Scholl, Cara (Shawn) Wagner, Kyle (Autumn) Swartzlander, Derek Hile, Wyatt (Cierra) Hoffman, and Weston Hoffman; 6 great-great-grandchildren, Harper, Hayden, and Huxley Scholl, Colt Wagner, Hayven and Gavin Swartzlander; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 44 years, she was preceded in death by one son, Gene K. Scholl, Sr.; one grandson, Gene K. Scholl, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Nova Grace Hoffman; one great-great-granddaughter, Raelynn Jade Swartzlander; three sisters, Mildred (Robert) Shaffer, Erma (Laken) Jolly, and Ethel (Leroy) Mull; a special friend and companion, Glenn Emery; and her beloved beagle, Patty.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to her compassionate and dedicated caregivers, Rita Brubaker, Valerie Ricedorf, and Hannah Hollingshead.

Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Grubbs (Botschaft) Lutheran Church, 2148 Hoffer Rd., Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Robert Doll officiating.

Burial will follow in Grubbs (Botschaft) Lutheran Church Cemetery.
