Sula R. Dreese, 102, entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at The Manor at Penn Village.

Sula was born on December 4, 1921, in Penns Creek, a daughter of the late George and Ella (Stahl) Bowersox.  On May 25, 1940, Sula married her sweetheart, Ralph O. Dreese, who preceded her in passing on June 1, 1987. They shared over 47 years of marriage.

Sula was employed as a machine operator for over 35 years at Groce’s Silk Mill in Selinsgrove.  Her favorite hobbies were cooking and baking.  Sula’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her precious family.  Her family was everything to her.

Sula is survived by her seven children, Loretta Rice of Middleburg, Luther (Carol) Dreese of Selinsgrove, Ralph (Mary) Dreese of Freeburg, Garry Dreese of Muncy Valley, PA, Barbara Parker and her companion Frank Young of Mildred, PA, Kathy (Terry) Hornberger of Middleburg, and Randy Dreese of New Berlin; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was the last of her immediate family.

She is preceded in passing by her parents, George and Ella; daughter, Lorraine Dreese at birth; sons-in-law, Jim Rice and Donald Parker; daughters-in-law, Bertha Dreese and Kathy Dreese; one sister; and 4 brothers.

Per Sula’s wishes, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Freeburg.
