Walter Lee Sprenkle, Jr., 68, of Selinsgrove, peacefully entered into eternal rest at his home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Walter, known as “Walt”, “Whistler”, “Jr.”, and “Pops” was born on January 3, 1956, in Sunbury, a son of the late Walter L. and Beverly E. (Emerick) Sprenkle, Sr.

Walt was a Lewisburg High School graduate.  He was employed by W. M. Wagner Sales in Winfield for 30+ years before following his dream of working for himself.  His dream was fulfilled when he became owner and operator of Sprenkle’s Tree Service as an arborist.  Walt had a passion for his country!

Walt was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and backpacking and arrowhead hunting.  He was an avid dirt bike enthusiast, and a member of the Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation.

Walt is survived by his very special companion, Wendy Sauers; children, Katie S. Hoover and her husband, Mervin P., Joel A. Sprenkle and his wife, Colleen, and Joshua L. Sprenkle; grandchildren, Ava and Erica Stauffer, Levi, Diane, Deborah, LeAnna and Olivia Hoover, and Aaliyah Sprenkle; sisters, Linda Kent and her husband, Dave and Connie Schneider and her husband, BJ; and a brother, Jeffrey Sprenkle and his wife, Kathy.

He is preceded in passing by his wife, Brenda (Lenig) Sprenkle and his parents, Walter and Beverly.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Grubbs Church, 2148 Hoffer Road, Mt. Pleasant Mills, with Pastor Aaron Benner officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in Grubbs Church Cemetery.
