Warren L. Shaffer, Sr., 84, of Liverpool, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Evangelical Community Hospital.
Warren “Short” was born on June 20, 1939, in Mt. Pleasant Mills, a son of the late Clair L. and Pauline (Hackenberg) Shaffer. On October 23, 1959, he married Janet (Mitchell) Shaffer, his beloved wife, who preceded him in passing on June 9, 2021.
Warren retired from Shaffer Trucking after 25 years of service as a diesel mechanic. After his retirement, Warren was dedicated to his profession and continued his career as a diesel mechanic at his family’s business, Keystone Carriers. He also enjoyed sitting, drinking coffee, and sharing many stories with anyone that knew trucks.
He is survived by his son, Warren Shaffer, Jr. and his wife Beatty; daughter, Teresa Shaffer and her spouse Sherri Holston; grandchildren, Michael Christopher Shaffer, Emily Grace Shaffer and her husband Zak Glover, and Rachael Elizabeth Powell and her husband Bobby; great-granddaughter, Sadie Grace; siblings, Carol Mengle, Norman “Butch” Shaffer and his wife Linda, and Kim Shaffer and his wife Laurie; and his precious furpuppy, Sugar.
Warren is preceded in passing by his wife, Janet; parents, Clair and Pauline; and siblings, Richard Shaffer, Ruth Martin Blaine, and Louie Shaffer.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 606 N. Front Street, Liverpool, PA 17045, with Bobby Powell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions in loving memory of Warren be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
